Mitch Krebs leads Renewable Energy Panel

This panel will give an overview of Renewable Energy in South Dakota including the historical and current status of wind energy, solar energy, and ethanol capacity as well as an outlook to the future by examining annual average wind speed,  biomass resources, and solar resources,.  Renewable energy policy will also be discussed.

Four Learning Objectives:

• Overview of renewable energy in the state of South Dakota today;
• learn about ethanol's outlook in South Dakota;
• overview of photovoltaic technologies and wind energy;
• overview and discussion of the future of renewable energy in South Dakota.

About Mitch Krebs:

Mr. Krebs joined POET in 2010 as the Director of Public Policy. His responsibilities include coordinating legislative efforts and government relations at the state level. His experience includes several years of leadership in government and media for companies such as Avera McKennan and KSFY Television. He was also the press secretary for S.D. Governor Mike Rounds.  Mr. Krebs has taken the initiative to actively promote renewable fuels by serving on the South Dakota Ethanol Producers Association and Minnesota Ethanol Producers Association boards. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota.
